5 Portrait Photographers - Have a Go Yourself
I launched this new presentation in November 2020 for the SxPF (Sussex Photographic Federation) presenting it online to their member clubs. This is part of his ACCESS TO PHOTOGRAPHY presentations looking at 5 distinctly different well known photographers, and how their styles differ from each other, showing you how they go about photographing their subjects and the end results.
The idea behind this presentation is to inspire club photography and show how styles can be so different. We look at the work of David Bailey, Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, Terry Richardson and Steve McCurrey. We critique 3 images hoping if possible to get audience participation or feedback.
Finally I conclude this presentation with working examples taken at my studio and on location..
Critique Evenings at your Club
(A great start to the year)
I just wanted to thank Lewes Camera Club, who allowed me to do a different form of judging (accessing images), rather than me critiquing the images and just awarding marks we had some interaction with some of the photographers who were present on the night, this was great as it allowed the photographer to talk about their vision and concepts and us to openly discuss the image, we could only do this to about 20% of the images due to time, but for me and the club it was a most enjoyable evening.
This then got me thinking and is NEW for 2021 I am now offering as part of my ACCESS TO PHOTOGRAPHY Talks and Workshops a “PHOTOGRAPHIC CRITIQUE EVENING” this is very informal and we all learn from it. This is where I host an evening and images are presented from the member club for open critique and feedback. The concept behind this workshop is for photographers to learn gain knowledge and develop their photography with critique and feedback from their Peers.
